doc-link™ 2.5 Minimum System Requirements

The following is a summary of the minimum recommended hardware and software requirements for the various doc-link components. doc-link version 2.5 can run on hardware below the outline suggested below, but is not supported by Altec.

Application server (COM+ Components)

• Windows Server 2003 SP1 and higher, Windows 2000 Server SP3 and higher
• Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor
• 2 GB RAM
• .Net Framework v 2.0

Database Server

• Windows Server 2003 SP1 and higher, Windows 2000 Server SP3 and higher
• SQL Server 2005; or SQL Server 2000. Refer to SQL Server documentation for minimum requirements. SQL should be configured to use both SQL Server and Windows authentication.
  
  If SQL is unavailable, SQL Server 2005 Express Edition must be installed separately (not included in the doc-link installation).
• Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor
• 2 GB RAM or higher recommended
• Hard drive space requirements for the database vary depending on the number of documents you are storing and where you plan to store your documents. If you plan to store your documents in the file system, you will not require space for documents in the database. On average, you can estimate that a document will require 400 KB.

Services (Enterprise Report Management (ERM), Indexing, Output Manager, Import and Barcode)

• Windows Server 2003 SP1 or higher or Windows 2000 Server SP3 and higher.
• Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor
• 2 GB RAM or higher recommended
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Net Framework 2.0. (Automatically installs .Net Framework 2.0 if not detected)
• Output Manager requirements:

  • Supported fax application if routing via fax:
    • Microsoft Fax 5.X
    • NetsatisFAXtion 7.5 – 8.5
    • RightFax 8.7 - 9.3
    • VSI-FAX 5.1- 6.0
    • FAXPress 8.0.
  • Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or higher, SMTP Service must be installed to
    route via email.

doc-link Remote Server (for doc-link Smart Client)

• Windows Server 2003 SP1 and higher, Windows 2000 Server SP3
• Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor
• 2 GB RAM or higher recommended
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or higher, ASP.Net and SMTP must be installed.
• Net Framework 2.0. (Automatically installs .Net Framework 2.0 if not detected)

doc-link Web Client Server

• Windows Server 2003
• Intel Pentium IV 2 GHz or faster processor
• 2 GB RAM or higher recommended
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0, ASP.Net and SMTP must be installed.
• .Net Framework v 2.0
• Connectivity to the doc-link DB and Image Store
• For the doc-link Web database, SQL Server 2005; or SQL Server 2000. Refer to SQL Server
  documentation for minimum requirements.
  
  If SQL is unavailable, SQL Server 2005 Express Edition (MSDE) must be installed manually
  (not included in the doc-link installation).

Client Applications (doc-link Administrator, doc-link Client, doc-link Smart Client, Collator, Decollator, Workflow, Workflow Supervisor, Barcode Administrator)

• Windows Vista, Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Pro SP3
• 1 GHz or faster processor
• 512 MB RAM above operating system requirements, 2 GB recommended for workstations
  collating/indexing documents into doc-link.
• 200 MB hard disk space to run the client
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• 17” or 19” monitor, dual monitor setup recommended for client installations designated for workflow entry.
• .Net Framework v 2.0. Smart Client requires.Net Framework v1.1 and v2.0 (Automatically installs .Net Framework 2.0 if not detected).
• doc-link users currently need to have a domain account with at least Local Power User rights.

doc-link Web Client

• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (enabled to accept Cookies and allow Pop-ups)
• Adobe Reader 5.0 or higher

Scan-link Station

• Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Pro SP3
• 1 GHz or faster processor
• 512 MB RAM above operating system requirements, 2 GB recommended if workstation is being used for collating/indexing documents into doc-link.
• Minimum of 10 GB of available disk space for scanning
• 19” Monitor (recommended)
